Absences

DURING PRODUCTION TIME:  

Many times, I do not know that a student is missing practice until practice has begun. To avoid issues with this and to be fair to all the students, I will be administering unexcused absences to students that do not notify me of their absences. Parents can notify me by calling into the office and leaving a message for me or parents can drop me a quick email. Whichever works best for you. No need to call or email if your child is home from school. I will already know they will not be at practice. No notification will be considered unexcused. Three unexcused absences will result in a conference with parents and possible removal from the cast. Yep, it's that important.  

Now, I know that things come up and parents sometimes can not get a message to me before practice. Please know that I can be flexible and will be happy to discuss the situation with parents after the fact to remove an unexcused absence. I am a parent and I know what hectic is. :)
